A New Visual Identity for the Digital Equity Research Center

The team at METRO’s Digital Equity Research Center is pleased to share our new visual identity! Developed with graphic designer Sophie Greenspan after an open call for collaborators in the spring of 2023, the design incorporates a new logo, color palette, and fonts.

The iterative design process, (get a peek at our Miro board below) had us thinking about how—and what—we hope to communicate regarding our activities and research outputs in the years ahead. Trust, equity, curiosity, and recognition were themes that came up again and again. One example of how this carried through in the final design is how the four half-circles in our logo reflect our four guiding principles: Asset Based, Power Aware, Respect Focused, and Justice Centered.
